A curated list of 12 Books for 2021 captured at Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.

I have been supremely blessed and fortunate to spend my 2021 in Dubai, an emirate filled with infinite possibilities and opportunities! I invested a significant amount of my time in 2021, reading some very interesting books, and I wanted to share my curated list of 12 books with you:

  1. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
  2. Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B Cialdini
  3. The Wisdom of Finance: Discovering Humanity in the World of Risk and Return by Mihir Desai
  4. The Billionaire Raj: A Journey Through India’s New Gilded Age by James Crabtree
  5. No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention by Erin Meyer, Reed Hastings
  6. Future Proofing You: Twelve Truths for Creating Opportunity, Maximizing Wealth, and Controlling Your Destiny in an Uncertain World by Jay Samit
  7. Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup (Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes) by John Carreyrou
  8. Circle of Friends: The Massive Federal Crackdown on Insider Trading, and Why the Markets Always Work Against the Little Guy by Charlie Gasparino
  9. My Life in Full: Work, Family and Our Future by Indra Nooyi (Autobiography)
  10. Unfinished: A Memoir by Priyanka Chopra (Autobiography)
  11. Mind Without Fear by Rajat Gupta (Autobiography)
  12. Uneven Justice: The Plot to Sink Galleon by Raj Rajaratnam (Autobiography)

Having led and worked with people across geographies and cultures over the last decade, one line from one of these books was particularly thought provoking,

“You cannot teach people motivation or drive… it has to come from within!”

I sincerely hope that these book recommendations spark ideas, values, insights, and learnings for those of you who choose to pick them up as well next year.

I am very grateful to each one of you who helped me learn, evolve, and grow in 2021.

Now Signing off. Wish you all a very Happy New Year 2022!
